We aim to teach you skills and techniques to help you manage everyday ups and downs. We have a wide range of options including one to one, face to face, telephone, internet-based therapy and courses. Our staff can discuss with you which option would be better for you. We also offer these in the local community in order to allow more people access the correct treatment.
What can I expect from an assessment?
Initial assessment
If you book an initial assessment with us here is what you can expect
At the time of your assessment one of our practitioners usually a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) will call you on your preferred number. It is important that you are in a quiet and confidential space to undertake the assessment which could last up to 45 min.
The purpose of this telephone appointment is to discuss your difficulties and consider what would be helpful to you. It is not to begin therapy at this time.
Prior to the appointment it is helpful if you can complete the following questionnaires https://calderdale-talkingtherapies.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Minimum-Data-Set.docx as these will help our practitioners understand the symptoms you are experiencing.
It is important to note if you do not attend this appointment or you are not in a suitable place to take the call at the agreed time you will be discharged back to the care of your GP
