Research in 2009 suggested that 7.8 million people live with long term pain in the UK, around 12% of the population.

The effects of long term pain

Chronic pain can impact on sleep, relationships, work, social and leisure activities exercise, driving and independence.

Calderdale IAPT offer sessions with one of our CBT Therapists, Counsellors or Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to help with the low mood and anxiety that often come with chronic pain. These will follow a Government approved treatment model and will look at improving our mood through changing our behaviours, addressing emotional issues and re-engaging with life again.

In addition we offer computer-based CBT via the Silvercloud platform.
